Three pieces of advice I would give myself

Best pieces of advice I have been given

1)“Experiment as much as possible with your work , continue to develop and change”

Hannah Firmin
I need to experiment more in the initial stages of my work as I don't play around enough with ideas. By playing around more with ideas in the early stages I will be more likely to come up with better ideas and thus a stronger final idea.  In my recent projects I have done more planning/ initial ideas and can see improvements in my work as a result of this.

2)“The important thing is to develop a way of working that is very personal to you, it is a very crowded, competitive world with literally hundreds of other people trying to do the same as you. So you have to be different and strong .

Hannah Firmin
It is important to show your personality in your work to give it uniqueness so that it will stand out from the crowd. This year I have developed a more specific way of working, the last couple of projects I have been doing lino printing and then make adjustments such as colour on photoshop. Using flat colour has also become a part of my style.

3) Don’t take no for an answer, to be very determined and to keep trying and believing in yourself. You cannot fail.

Alan Baker
As long as I don't give up, I will keep improving and eventually suceed- if you don't believe in yourself no one else will - I need to believe in myself more. I have managed to motivate myself more and worked a lot harder this year- I need to remind myself of how much I have improved to push myself to try even harder and keep going.
