Final GSA Image

This is the template of the characters I created for my leaflet.

Final Art of Protest Image

This is the final art of protest image i made. It was done using acrylic paints on canvas. The main message of the painting is anti-sexism. It goes against the stereotype that women should make there husbands tea and that men typically play video games. The man is used to his wife making tea when he gets home from work , she has decided that she shouldn't have to do this.

GSA Ideas

I came up with several ideas for the project. I finally decided I was going to use   the simplistic style .

GSA Questionnaire

To inspire ideas for the project we were ask to interview college students about their feelings on the Gay Community.

Research: Roy Lichtenstein

I looked at Pop Artist Roy Lichtensteins work as inspiration on what kind of style to  use for my final piece, namely the flat colours and bold outlines.

Ideas for the art of protest

These are the ideas I came up with for the art of protest project. They are all very image dominated and try to get the message across with little text.

Research : Banksy

As research for the Art of protest project, I looked at the Graffiti Artist, Banksy , who is known for the statements in his work.

GSA Project

I was given two different projects to do - the GSA project ( gay straight alliance) or the age uk project. I chose the GSA project as I found the oher one two depressing and feel stongly about Gay Rights.

Cross Pathways Project

In the middle of November we started  a new three week project with the graphic design class . I was in a group of 4 with one other illustrator and two graphic designers. There were three projects to choose from : The wellspring project , The library E resources project and the fiction vs reality project. We formed groups based on which project we wanted to do, I chose the wellspring project as I felt it was the most varied project in terms of ideas.

The Art of Protest

At the start of November, I was given a choice of two projects to do : the NOISE festival project or the Map of Your Weekend Project.  I chose the NOISE festival project as I felt that I was more suited to it.
