Recently I have been looking at folk/outsider art as I have found similarities in style between my work and these  kinds  of art. Bill traylor  was an african american folk artist. (1854-1949)

I am planning on making a puppet theatre for the puppets I have made for my current project , here are a few examples I have been looking at to inspire me.

New Brief

On Friday I was given a new brief  which is based on developing the work I did over the summer. I had two options - to produce an animated sequence or a narrative surface  i.e a besoke wallpaper or a silk scarf. I decided to go with the animation as it is something I have always been interested in . As well as this I also have to make a 3D character model based on the summer project. I have already begun doing research for the project (see earlier posts) and will continue to do more, I also need to start planning my storyboards for the animation and need to decide on what media to use for my 3D character model.

The Five Images

The King summons the Centaur and the Faerie to his palace to ask them to kill the Minotaur which has been attacking his people.

The Centaur and the Faerie travel to the Minotaur's lair with the help of the Kings Griffin.

The Centaur and the Faerie search for the Minotaur who is lurking behind them.

The Centaur and the Faerie notice the Minotaur, the Faerie stuns him with a spell while the Centaur attacks with his bow.

The Centaur and the Faerie suceed in killing the Minotaur.

More research

I decided that the minotaur would live in a cave so I collected some research images of caves.

I also collected images of throne rooms for the scene with the king.
